I assume that’s what I’ve to turn for ten years of solo adventures with yours in point of fact – throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, North The united states, South The united states, Oceania and the Heart East. Hello, I’m now not complaining. However if you wish to know precisely easy methods to take your individual solo commute footage that may finally end up in magazines and on ebook covers, learn on!

Step One: Purchase this Tripod
It’s no secret that you just’ll want the equipment of the business to take the most efficient solo commute footage you’re able to. However the excellent news is, the most efficient isn’t at all times the costliest. Actually, you’ll simply want to purchase this tripod on Amazon to simply take your individual solo commute footage.
The most efficient tripods for solo commute footage
For footage to your iPhone – The most cost effective choice is this telephone tripod for $15.
For footage on a DSLR – You’ll want a sturdier choice like this tripod for $39.
Either one of those tripods include all of the essential attachments in your telephone and/or digital camera, plus the all vital Bluetooth far off. Which brings me to step two.
Step Two: Hyperlink your Bluetooth Far off
Taking your individual solo commute footage is much more uncomplicated if in case you have a Bluetooth far off. For years I used my iPhone as a far off (via connecting it to my Sony A7iii digital camera). Alternatively in contemporary travels, I’ve converted to this small Bluetooth far off that comes incorporated with either one of the tripods I related above.
I will not overstate the significance of the Bluetooth far off.
This little far off lets you click on away on your arms and take as many footage as you so please in only a few seconds. Higher but: no person will ever know you’re the usage of a far off!
Step 3: Take footage within the early hours of the morning
Some other commonplace query I am getting requested is “don’t you get afraid somebody will scouse borrow your digital camera?“
One of the best ways to make sure that doesn’t occur is to mission out within the mornings, simply because the solar is emerging and seize footage of the town you’re visiting earlier than the town wakes up. You’re going to revel in those places nearly at all times to your self, get the most efficient mild for taking footage, and grasp the day via beginning early. That’s a triple win!
Step 4: Use Video as a substitute of Footage
Some other nice approach to get candid taking a look footage of your self is to click on the video serve as as a substitute of shooting nonetheless footage. That approach you’ll be able to simply stroll naturally within the body, pause and screenshot on a picture you favor. For this I’d suggest upgrading to the newest style of iPhone because the digital camera high quality is *chef’s kiss* best notch.
Step 5: Stroll clear of the digital camera
One in every of my signature tactics to seize a vacation spot is to turn the speculation of a “vacationer photograph” on its head. As a substitute of going through the body, I stroll clear of it. And also you may well be questioning: yeah, however why?
Strolling clear of the body provides the viewer/target audience the belief that they’re there within the photograph with you. It lets in them to concentrate on the vacation spot as a substitute of the individual within the photograph.
This can be a nice approach to take PRO solo commute footage that may finally end up being bought, splashed on magazines (like my characteristic in ELLE US or my 6-page unfold in Cosmopolitan – pinch me!!!)
Step six: Use a Drone
Once in a while the vacation spot I’m looking to {photograph} is best observed from the next level than the place I’m bodily status. In those circumstances, you’ll wish to change the tripod setup for a drone.
As you’ll be able to see on this photograph, my left hand is preserving the drone far off taking the footage. I make some degree of maintaining my proper hand loose so the pose appears to be like informal and now not staged. Et voila!
