The Enjoy
Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican Day Parade places the wonder, exuberance and resilience of Philly’s Puerto Rican and Latino communities on complete show for all the town to have fun.
The huge, family-friendly tournament fills the Benjamin Franklin Expressway with 1,500 marchers and over 5,000 parade-goers, whilst nearly 100,000 extra watch at house.
Dancers, drumlines, marching bands and motorcades (together with colourful floats, vintage vehicles and different embellished cars) make their approach from 18th Boulevard to essentially the most well-known staircase in all of Philadelphia — rain or shine.
Longtime Philadelphia media character Mina Say What hosts the parade once more this yr, as faculties, neighborhood organizations and company sponsors march and dance alongside the path to the sounds of Latin song and poetry. Colourful, conventional dance performances via artists of every age punctuate the procession.
This yr’s theme, “Carry Your Flag” or “Alza los angeles Bandera,” calls on spectators and marchers alike to wave their flags unapologetically prime and blow their own horns their Puerto Rican satisfaction.

Some of the town’s greatest and longest-running cultural traditions, the once a year Puerto Rican Day Parade is arranged via the Council of Spanish Talking Organizations (Concilio), Philadelphia’s oldest group serving Latino households.
